Veteran Burkinabe striker Aristide Bance has made a comeback to Burkina Faso top flight for the first time in 16 years.
Bance, who last played a competitive game in June, was introduced with his side already 1-0 down in a match against AS Police that was staged at Stade du 4-Août de Ouagadougou on Saturday.
The former Al Masry of Egypt forward made his debut for the army side after penning a six-month contract earlier this month.
Bance admitted afterward that he was delighted to finally make his debut and he remains confident of rediscovering his scoring touch once he hits full match fitness.
“For me it’s a pleasure to play with youngsters. This is where my journey started. It’s a pleasure to play again in the Burkina Faso league, “said Bancé as translated from French.

Many analysts believe his move to USFA represents an important opportunity to show his cards ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations 2019 in Egypt in June.
The 34-year-old had spells with clubs in Ivory Coast, Belgium, UAE, Latvia, Finland, Qatar, Ukraine, South Africa and Kazakhstan.
At Al Masry, Bance made 19 appearances with the Port Said based club scoring eight goals and produced three assists.
For the Stallions, he made 73 appearances including the 2013, 2015 and 2017 Nations Cups, and has scored 22 goals.
