AS Vita Part Ways With Zana Coulibaly

Congolese giants AS Vita have officially parted ways with defender Zana Coulibaly.

Congolese giants AS Vita have officially parted ways with defender Zana Coulibaly.

The Burkina Faso international joined the Black Dolphins on a free transfer after leaving Tanzanian giants Simba Sports Club last season.

However, he failed to command a regular place in the club’s starting line-up, forcing the management to terminate his contract.

Last week, reports emerged that Coulibaly was on his way out of the club but this couldn’t be confirmed at the time as both sides were still negotiating a settlement.

However, a statement confirming the split has been released by the Congolese side on Saturday.

The note reads: “After eleven months, the experience of Zana Coulibaly at AS Vita has terminated.

“The Burkinabe player has rescinded his contract by mutual consent.”

Formerly with Ivorian side ASEC Mimosas, Coulibaly joined Vita in July 2019 on a two-year-deal but lack of game time forced him out of the club.

The 27-year-old defender managed 20 appearances across all competitions for the Black Dolphins and registered just three assists without finding the back of the net.
