Kenyan rally driver Asad Khan’s family and friends are shattered by his tragic death on Sunday, December 18.
Khan, who also headed a team of mechanics for the Young FIA team, was rushed to a hospital last Monday with deep cuts on his right knee.
The deceased family members confirmed the death of the rally driver after spending seven days at the hospital following a brutal attack on December 12.
“Yes my brother Asad has finally left us. We had been at his bedside ever since he was admitted in the hospital with stab wounds. It is really sad,” a member of the family told reporters on Sunday.
It has been reported that Khan was assaulted by his girlfriend rally driver Maxine Wahome following a domestic spat.
Wahome was arraigned in court and freed on Ksh 100,000 (USD 1000) cash bail pending further investigations.
Police had sought 14 days to keep Wahome in custody in order to conclude investigations but a Kilimani court magistrate denied the prosecutor’s request to detain her.
