Ghana Premier League side Ashanti Gold have vehemently denied any knowledge of wrongdoing in their match against Inter Allies.
After the 7-0 win over Inter Allies on the last day of the season key figures in Ghanaian football raided questions about the manner in which Eleven is to One lost the match.
It was alleged that Ashanti Gold had wired across a large amount of money to several Inter Allies players so that they would allow the Miners a free path to victory.
In a statement, the former league champions has emphatically denied all allegations leveled against the club’s administration
“We take notice of the video circulating in relation to our game against Inter Allies and wish to state unequivocally dissociate ourselves from any wrongdoing.
“Ashanti Gold played competitively in the entire duration of the game, with our players scoring five great goals through hard work and team effort in the 15th, 26th, 42nd, 49th and 77th respectively,” parts of the statement read.
“We have no idea as to why the opponents’ player scored two own goals after we were up by five goals with 13 minutes to end the game.
