Baker Lukooya will make the final call on the next move for his career and would be open to a return to Kenya.

The former AFC Leopards midfielder has been handed his clearance by Ugandan Premier League giants Express FC upon the end of his contract.

Now with his clearance in hand, the Uganda international is looking forward to joining any team that will give him an opportunity to play in the KPL next season.

“I hope to be back to Kenya when border re-opens. I feel that I’ve got unfinished business in the KPL, so I am figuring I’d come back to continue what I started,” Baker told Ducor Sports.

“I’ve always wanted to play in Europe, but I think it would be good to develop myself in the Kenya league because of how professional and competitive it is.

“So, I’m looking forward to returning to the KPL. Right now, I’m a free agent and I’m open to offers.”

The 24-year-old, who spent two seasons at Leopards, says he will be back to Nairobi and ideally would like to find a club where he had previously settled but also mentions his hope is to compete for silverware.

“I’d like to join a club that’s competing for silverware. I’ve previously been based in Nairobi, so I’d be very happy to stay here,” Lukooya adds.

“But I wouldn’t mind in Western Kenya either, it’s been a place I’ve wanted to experience, so that would be nice too.”

Reports have linked the winger to Kakamega Homeboyz, although he refuses to divulge any details thereof, while he also doesn’t rule out rekindling the interest from Vipers SC.

Lukooya had joined AFC Leopards from Soana FC before leaving the Kenyan Premier League side for Express FC in Uganda.

The left-winger also had stints with Bright Stars, Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) and Kiira Young Football Club.
