Bandari Appoint Casa Mbungo as New Head Coach

As they turn to overlook their lackluster performances this season, Bandari have appointed a new coach, Rwandan manager Andre Casa Mbungo.

As they turn to overlook their lackluster performances this season, Bandari have appointed a new coach, Rwandan manager Andre Casa Mbungo.

The Dockers announced the appointment on Monday afternoon and the club also confirmed the departure of assistant coach Nasoro Mwakoba and goalkeeper trainer Razak Siwa.

In a statement on the club’s official website, Bandari said the 53-year-old replaces Ken Odhiambo, who left the club in December last year.

“Andre Cassa Mbungo has been appointed new club head coach,” Bandari confirmed the appointment of the former AFC Leopards head coach.

“Mbungo joins the club on a two-year deal and will name his assistant in the next few days.”

Mbungo revealed the reason that made him join the club and what he would like to achieve with the Dockers.

“I’m happy to be at Bandari Football Club, a team I have liked all along since I set my foot in Kenya as AFC Leopards coach in 2019. I have played a couple of matches against them and I must confess I liked the professionalism with which they handled their players and discipline within the playing unit,” said Mbungo.

“Trophy always comes first in any team and it will open more opportunities for the team thus we will not leave any chance on it,” added Mbungo.

In addition, Bandari Football Club vice chairman Bernard Osero stated that the former Rwanda international is perfect for the role as he brings important technical skills.

“Our is a Corporate Social Responsibility program that covers sports, health and education, the reason we have reached out to our friend in the East Africa Community to come and help us empower our youth by developing their football talent and sending some abroad for professional stints, apart from playing for the various national football teams,” Osero said.

Meanwhile, the former Rayon Sports gaffer could be in the touchline when they face Zoo FC mid this week away in Nakuru once his work permit is finalised.

Bandari sit sixth on the BetKing Premier League log with 8 points from six games and Mbungo will be tasked with ensuring that the club returns to glory as far as their silverware ambitions are concerned.
