Felly Mulumba has completed a shock move from Bandari to Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League champions FC Platinum, ending a five-year stay at the Kenyan Premier League giants.

The Congolese centre back signed a two-year deal with the Zvishavane based outfit and is their second defensive signing, joining Ralph Kawondera as the new face in the Platinum miners backline.

“I want to thank Bandari from the bottom of my heart for welcoming me to the club and supporting me throughout the years. I have gained invaluable experience and even played continental football courtesy of the club,” said Mulumba.

“This move would not have been possible without that and I thank the club for all they have done for me.”

Mulumba may be at the other end of his career, but has lots of top-fight football experience, racking up 160 appearances in the league for Bandari over the five seasons at the Dockers.

The 30-year-old won the GoTV Shield, the KPL Super Cup and the Sportpesa Shield with Bandari, with whom he only signed a new two-year deal in July 2019.

“The players, coaches and support staff have all played a crucial role in my career and I want to thank them. I’m eager to get started at my new club and ready to battle and help the club grow and achieve its goals,” Mulumba added.

Bandari coach Twahir Muhiddin said: “We’ll miss his leadership at the club but I believe we have players to come into his place.”

Early last month, FC Platinum parted ways with six senior players and these are Magalane, Devon Chafa, Charles Sibanda, Rodwell Chinyengetere, Albert Eonde and Mkhokheli Dube following the expiry of their contracts.
