Bandari Coach Reacts to The CAF Draw

Bandari head coach Bernard Mwalala has admitted that they will seek help from outside to know more about their next opponents in the CAF competition.

Bandari head coach Bernard Mwalala has admitted that they will seek help from outside to know more about their next opponents in the CAF competition.

The Kenya domestic cup champions have been paired with Horoya AC of Guinea in the Confederation Cup playoffs, whose first leg will be played on 27th October.

Reacting to the draw, the former Harambee Stars striker now says he knows very little about the team and that he will ask for information from his friends from West Africa and videos.

“I’m still researching about our opponents (Horoya). We are not familiar with them as much and we hope that the management will help us with the needed input as they did when we faced US Ben Guerdane,” Mwalala told Ducor Sports.

“I am hoping that my friends will deliver the correct information as that is was we need, I know it will be difficult but I am not worried,” he added.

Mwalala is aware of opponents’ threat but is optimistic his side will bite off Horoya and progress to the lucrative group stages of the competition.

“I don’t think the boys fear any opponents. The level we are at now we are not expected to fear anyone. We knew we were representing a country and we have to be at our best to match the best,” Mwalala concluded.

Bandari booked the knockout date against the Guinea Conakry outfit after beating US Ben Guerdane of Tunisia on a 3-2 aggregate win.

Horoya AC dropped to the Confederation Cup after they were beaten in the Champions League 5-2 on penalties by JS Kabylie of Algeria.
