Barcelona Linked With A Move For Kalidou Koulibaly

It has been claimed that Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly could make a €50m move to Spanish football giants Barcelona.

According to Football Espana, Barcelona could be lining up a massive bid for the 29-year-old Senegal international.

It is claimed the Spanish club is weighing up a €50million offer for the defender, who has been remarkably outstanding since his arrival at Stadio San Paolo from Genk in 2014.

Koulibaly has been attracting interests from some of Europe’s leading clubs including Manchester City and Manchester United.

In March 2020, Koulibaly was reported to have informed the Seria A side that he was keen on an exit this summer but the club placed a £90m price tag.

The defender is still under contract until 2023 and has been singing praises on manager Gennaro Gatusso for his impact since arriving in December 2019.

Koulibaly made the Serie A Team of the Season in the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons and also earned himself a place in the CAF Team of the Year in 2016 after his fine defensive showings that helped Napoli across the two campaigns.

The Napoli star has been a commanding figure who’s difficult to get the better of either in the air or in a foot race, and is rarely outmaneuvered by opposition strikers. Most impressive, though, is his ability with ball at feet, as he is a magnificent passer who always manages to keep his cool in possession.
