Basketball: Senegal Coach’s Future Uncertain

There is growing uncertainty over the future of Senegal’s male basketball national team coach Abbourahmane Nidaye.

Ndiaye was appointed the head of the team December 2017 as coach Fiasac’s replacement following a dismal showing in the FIBA Afro Basketball qualifiers by his predecessor.

There is uncertainty over where next he plays, owing to the fact that his contract has expired.

Abdourahmane’s deal with Senegalese basketball governing body ended immediately after their conquest of Abidjan in the World Cup qualifiers last week.

The 64-year-old would hope to ink the dotted lines on an improved deal as pundits predict a continuation of his task.

“We are satisfied with the work done because the goal is achieved,” a spokesperson from the basketball federation says.
