Bencharki Sends Zamalek Farewell Message

Moroccan forward Achraf Bencharki has sent a farewell message to the Zamalek SC teammates and fans amid speculations linking him with a move to Greek giants Olympiacos.

Zamalek announced Bencharki’s departure on Friday a month after the striker revealed that he did not want to extend his contract

Talking to social media, the 27-year-old,who has scored 37 goals in over 100 appearances for the White Knights, posted a heartfelt message to the club’s fans and teammates for the support shown in him over the last two seasons.

“Thank you Zamalek, thank you Zamalek board of directors, thank you Zamalek players, thank you Zamalek fans, and thank you to everyone I worked with,” Bencharki tweeted.

“The moment I never anticipated has come, and I can say that you have always supported me during good times and bad times.

“The last three years were filled with coronations and titles, I have never felt like a foreigner here. But this is life and I want to say goodbye to everyone in Zamalek family.”

Bencharki joined Zamalek  in June 2019 from Saudi Arabia giants Al-Hilal and has since scored 40 goals while assisting 27 in his over 100 appearances with the club.

The former Wydad Casablanca marksman was instrumental in Zamalek’s 2020/21 triumphant Egyptian Premier League campaign.

He also won  two Egypt Cups, an Egyptian Super Cup, and a CAF Super Cup.
