Zimbabwean powerhouse Ngezi Platinum has parted ways with head coach Benjani Mwaruwari following a series of poor results.
The Mhondoro-based side have been horrendous in the past four weeks , failing to win a single one of their last four games in the league.
“Ngezi Platinum Stars Football Club would like to inform all its stakeholders that the club has parted ways with the head coach Benjani Mwaruwari on mutual agreement,” the club said in a statement.
“This was Benjani’s first coaching agreement and both the club and the coach agreed that it did not deliver the expected results hence the decision to part ways.”
The 43-year-old gaffer managed a poor 13 percent winning rate with Platinum thereby ending remote dream of winning the league title.
The former Manchester City and Jomo Cosmos striker latest defeat was to Yadah FC over the weekend when the Platinum miners lost 1-0 at the National Sports Stadium in Harare.
Mwaruwari was appointed Ngezi Platinum coach in May replaces ex-Ngezi gaffer Rodwell Dhlakama who reportedly left the club via mutual consent in April.
The former Zimbabwe national team captain is a holder of the Uefa A coaching license and once served at Warriors as assistant coach.
The Uefa A coaching license is one level below the rated Uefa Pro which is the highest coaching certificate in Europe.
It (Uefa A) allows its holders to be head of youth teams up to the under 18s, to coach reserve teams for any top flight clubs and men’s professional second tier clubs.
