Bertrand Traore Doubtful of Malawi clash

Stallions may miss the services of Aston Villa winger Bertrand Traore for their back-to-back 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Malawi.

Stallions, who will host the Flames at home on November 9, 2020 and November 17, 2020 away, are eyeing the two tickets at stake.

Traore picked up an injury during their 4-3 English Premier League loss to Southampton at Villa Park on Sunday.

The Burkina Faso star, who made his first Premier League start for Villa, hobbled off 29 minutes in with his side just 1-0 down before being replaced by Trezeguet.

Traore went close with a well-taken free-kick just minutes before being substituted. The strike gave him discomfort before he came off while clutching the inside of his left groin.

The former Lyon attacker had been earmarked as the man to lead Burkina Faso attack by coach Kamou Malo.

Burkina Faso are sitting second in Group B of Nations Cup qualifiers with four points alongside Uganda while Malawi are third with three points.
