Bertrand Traore: Istanbul Basaksehir Complete Loan Move For Aston Villa Striker

Turkish Super Lig outfit Istanbul Basaksehir have signed Aston Villa striker Bertrand Traore for the remainder of the season.

The Burkina Faso international moves to Basaksehir to seek regular game time after featuring 45 times over the past two seasons for  Villa.

Traore, who has 65 caps for the Stallions, scored eight goals in all competitions since joining the club in September 2020.

According to Villa, his last term was coupled with injuries that limited his appearances in Claret and Blue although he did represent Burkina Faso at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Traore had previously been linked with a possible move back to Lyon during the current transfer window.

The 26-year-old  has a strong pedigree with top-level playing experience at Ajax and Chelsea before his move to Lyon three seasons ago, where he has played over 100 games competing for the Ligue 1 title and in the Champions League.

Traore made his debut for the Burkina Faso senior national team in September 2011 in a friendly match against Equatorial Guinea, and has  65caps for the Stallions with 13 goals.
