Bertrand Traore Set To Complete Loan Move To Istanbul Basaksehir From Aston Villa

Turkish club Istanbul Basaksehir  have agreed a deal to sign striker Bertrand Traore on a season-long loan from Aston Villa.

Villa signed the 26-year-old from Olympique Lyon for £19m in September 2020, but will now have a new challenge in Super Lig.

The Burkina Faso international flew out of England on Thursday and will arrive in Istanbul on Saturday morning to undergo his medical and put the finishing touches on his loan switch.

Traore determined to leave Aston Villa this month in pursuit of regular football between now and January having made just nine appearances for the English Premiership side in all competitions last season.

The striker has not had good time in recent years as he endured tough times in his last season at when at Lyon  he featured in 35 matches, netting four goals and providing five assists in all competitions.

The forward has previously played alongside John Terry at Chelsea, Marvelous Nakamba at Dutch side Vitesse and Anwar El Ghazi at Ajax.

He had player at English Premiership before with Chelsea where he made 16 senior appearances for Chelsea, scoring four goals in the process.

Traore  made his debut for the Burkina Faso senior national team in September 2011 in a friendly match against Equatorial Guinea, and has  65caps for the Stallions with 13 goals.
