Horseed SC forward Brian Mugisha is having a great season so far since joining the Somalia Premier League (SPL) giants at the start of the year.
On Monday, the Uganda international scored a brace against Gaadiidka taking his tally to five so far and he hopes to clinch this season’s Golden boot despite stiff competition.
Speaking to Ducor Sports on phone from Mogadishu, the player thanked his colleagues for the support and stated his main aim is to keep hitting the back of the net.
“Actually, I want to thank my fellow players because settling in a new team is always difficult but with a good focus on what brought you to the team you will always make it,” said Mugisha.
Mugisha who joined Farhan and Adnan at the top of the goal-scoring charts has set a target of 20 goals this season and also wants to finish as the league’s top scorer.
“I have done well so far. Honestly, I am impressed by my form, five goals so far from seven matches is a good ratio for me as a striker and this will inspire me to continue working hard. It is not going to be easy considering we have several good strikers, but I am aiming to hit a target of 20 goals and win this season’s Golden Boot,” he added.
With a fragile security situation being the most challenging obstacle in the country for foreign players, Mugisha is optimistic of impressing scouts and making a move to Europe.
“As a matter of fact I also have several targets, individual targets I am working on to better my game.”
He joined the Somalia outfit from Uganda’s Division Two outfit Kitala FC and had unsuccessful trials with Kenyan Premier League side, Sofapaka FC late last year.
