Burkina Faso Defender Issa Kabore Joins French Club Marseille

French Ligue 1 side Marseille  have signed highly-rated Manchester City defender Issa Kabore on a season-long loan.

The 21-year-old, who has 2 caps for Burkina Faso, moves to the Phocaeans after completing another loan spell at Troyes.

Kabore was signed Manchester City in 2020 from Belgian outfit KV Mechelen but failed to play a single game the Sky Blues.

The Stallions star  could remain at Marseille as there is a buy option for €20 million has also been included as a part of the deal.

During his stay at Troyes, Kabore provided two assists and was sent off twice in a largely unsuccessful spell as the club avoided relegation to finish 15th in the league.

Kabore  trained with his new team-mates for the first time on Tuesday.

He is expected to make his debut in the third league match of the season against Nantes on Saturday.

Kabore made his debut for Burkina Faso’s senior national football team in a friendly 0-0 tie with DR Congo on 9 June 2019.

He was named the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations best young player having featured in all Stallions’ matches at the tournament.
