Burkina Faso Midfielder Joins Kenyan Outfit

Burkina Faso midfielder Abdul Karim Nikiema Zoko has earned a move to Kenyan Premier League side Gor Mahia after leaving Gandzasar Kapan FC in Armenia.

The tenacious midfielder played alongside Nigeria U-23 midfielder Joseph Adah at Kapan last season but has now opted to move to Kenya to kickstart his career again.

Having been developed within ASFA Yennenga academy and featuring for Burkina Faso at youth level, the Ouagadougou born talent has enjoyed spells at Fetteh Feyenoord FC of Ghana , Société Omnisport de l’Armée (SOA) of Ivory Coast and Ethiopia’s Saint George over the past decade.

Gor Mahia announced on Tuesday via their official website the arrival of Nikiema and Kenyan international Haron Shakava as reinforcements ahead of their African Confederation Cup play-off against Napsa Stars of Zambia.

“Abdul Karim Nikiema Zoko from Burkina Faso is the latest player to join us; the midfielder from Gandzasar Kapan FC of Armenia signed a two-year deal,” the club wrote on their official website.

The 27-year-old who has expressed his desire to one day represent Stallions featured 10 times for Gandzaar Kapan last season in an injury disrupted campaign.
