Burundi international Shahir Nahimana is reportedly close to joining Kenyan Premier League side Tusker FC.
The 29-year-old has been training with the side for three weeks and is set to sign a two-year deal with the club.
Nahimana has been playing for the Burundian Premier League side Bunamuru.
“Bumamuru FC and former Rayon Sports attacking midfielder Shassir Nahimana move to Tusker FC is reportedly a done deal,” a report by Burundian publication Akeza.Net reads.
“The Burundi international is set to seal his move to the Kenyan Premier League side later this February.”
Nahimana started his football career at Inter Stra in 2012 and then moved to Vital’O where he won two consecutive Burundi Premier League titles in 2014/15 and in the 2015/2016 season.
He was snapped up by Rwandan club Rayon Sports in 2016 and won the 2016/2017 Rwandan Premier League title with the club.
At the end of the 2017/18 season, Nahimana joined Omani club Nziwa, and in January 2019, he moved to Saudi club Al-Mujazzal on a one-year deal.
He then switched to another Saudi side Al-Entesar in 2020, where he played for one year before moving to Equatorial Guinea giants Futuro Kings.
Nahimana debuted his Burundi national team in the 2014 Africa Nations Championship finals in South Africa.
He scored his first-ever international goal for Burundi in a 2-1 win against Djibouti in the 2016 Africa Nations Championship qualifiers.
The striker was part of the Burundi national team squad that participated in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
