Horoya AC coach Victor Zvunka is confident that his side can overcome Al Ahly in their first-leg of CAF Champions League quarterfinal clash this evening.
The H.A.C manager has also showered his players with praise for their good run of form in the continental premier club competition, where they have reached last eight stage for their first time in history.
“Our objective was to reach the quarter-finals, but now we will try to go as far as possible,” said Zvunka.
“I have a squad of quality players, who are very attentive during training and work hard on matchdays. Working with them is such a pleasure.”
Horoya stunned 2016 CAF Champions League winners Mamelodi Sundowns to end as group runners-up behind defending champions Wydad Casablanca.
The Guinean giants, who won 1978 Africa Cup Winners Cup, are coming to this fixture as underdogs in the fight to reach the final four but Zvunka has assured fans that they will qualify for the next stage.
“We will do our best to qualify for the semi-finals. This first leg match is the most important. It is vital that we don’t concede any goals when we face Al Ahly,” he added.
The match is slated to kick off at 1800h CAT at 28 September Stadium in Conakry.
Ahly will host the return leg fixture eight days later with the winner on aggregate scheduled to face either title holders Wydad or Algeria’s ES Setif.
