CAF Confederation Cup 2018/2019 Group Stage Draw

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) held the draw for the 2018/2019 CAF Confederation Cup on Monday afternoon in their Secretariat in Cairo.

Trophy-holders Raja Casablanca, Hassania US Agadir, Renaissance Sportive de Berkane, all from Morocco were drawn in the same group.

Congo Brazzaville outfit AS Otoho Doyo, who bundled out KCCA of Uganda on a rainy afternoon in Kampala yesterday, completed the Group A line-up.

Group B comprises Salitas of Burkina Faso, Enugu Rangers of Nigeria and two Tunisian sides CS Sfaxien and ES Sahel.

Asante Kotoko, who are back in the group stages of the competition after 11 years, face Zesco United of Zambia and their counterparts Nkana FC in Group C, together with El Hilal of Sudan.

Zamalek who have won six CAF competition, Nasr Athletic Hussein Dey and Atlético Petróleos de Luanda are in Group D of with one time Confederation Cup champions, Gor Mahia of Kenya.

Last edition’s finalist, AS Vita of DR Congo, are not in the race as they have qualified for the Champions League group stage.

Tunisian clubs have won the competition a record five times for the nation.
