Asante Kotoko captain Amos Frimpong says the team is in a positive space ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup play-off first leg fixture against Coton Sport de Garoua on Saturday evening.
The Porcupine Warriors travel to Cameroon to play the Elite One League giants at Roumdé Adjia Stadium in Yaounde and Frimpong says his side are looking forward to qualifying for the group phase of the continental competition.
“We will be playing against an African giant and must play at our best in both legs to be able to qualify ahead of them. I believe in our team but we need to be clinical in both legs to eliminate a side like Coton Sport because they are a difficult team to beat,” Frimpong noted in an interview with Graphic Sports.
“We must work hard to earn a favorable result in our opening game away from home so we can finish the tie off at home. I believe we have a solid team to achieve that but must have the right attitude to go through,” he added.
The Reds coach Charles Akonnor will be looking forward to ending the club’s 10-year group stage drought in the competition by leading them past that stage.

“Everyone has been working hard, and we expect to get an away win in order to increase our chances of qualifying to the next stage,” says the 27-year-old.
The return leg encounter will take place in Kumasi on January 20 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
