African football legend Rigobert Song is elated at his appointment as Cameroon national team head coach.
The former Liverpool defender was on Monday 28 March 2022 appointed by Cameroon Football Federation (Fecafoot), and will be assisted by Frenchman Sebastien Migne.
Song called it a great honor and pleasure to be named the Indomitable Lions and has promised to achive good results with the team.
“ The Indomitable Lions jersey gave me everything. I am grateful. I am honored to have been chosen to guide the national team,” he posted on his official Facebook page.
“Beyond the privilege and the joy that animate me, I measure the importance of responsibility entrusted to me. I will give my best, as I did as a player and captain of the selection to deserve the trust given me by the Cameroon government, Fecafoot-Officiel president Samuel Eto’o and its Executive Committee.

His first task in-charge of Indomitable Lions will be to finalize preparations for the team’s two-legged play-off for 2022 World Cup against Algeria.
Before then, Indomitable Lions are set to play two friendly matches although opponents and match dates have not yet been named nor confirmed.
Cameroon technical team also has former internationals Souleymanou Haminou as goalkeeper coach and Raymond Kalla as team manager.
