Cameroon Midfielder Moussa Souleymanou Leaves Zanaco

Sensational Zanaco have parted ways with Cameroonian midfielder Moussa Souleymanou, the club confirmed on Sunday.

Sensational Zanaco have parted ways with Cameroonian midfielder Moussa Souleymanou, the club confirmed on Sunday.

The relationship between the Zambia Super League giants and Souleymanou came to an end after the club elected not to exercise its option for an extension of his contract.

The 26-year-old attacking midfielder has spent three seasons at Zanaco, having joined in January 2018 from Cotonsport.

In the three years, Souleymanou played close to 50 games for the Bankers where he contributed to the club’s success in the Zambian Super League.

Ducor Sports understands Souleymanou snubbed a contract extension with Zanaco where he developed a reputation as one of the finest defensive midfielders on the continent.

Meanwhile, Zanaco who are currently in Livingstone for a pre-season, have also announced that they have loaned eight of their first-team players as the club enters 2020/21 season.

Jimmy Nakena, Mwansa Nsofwa, Golden Mafwenta, Emmanuel Okutu and goalkeeper Benson Mwale from Young Zanaco have all been loaned out to Buildcon FC on a partnership deal.

Others are Lawrence Chung, Christone Jere, Chibesa Chanda and Damiano Kola who have been loaned to Konkola Blades.

The team is expected to rope in a few more players before the window closes as they seek to replicate the 2016 performance that saw them win the MTN/FAZ Super League.
