A Canadian company, Magil, will now complete work began by Piccini whose deal to construct Paul Biya stadium was terminated.

A Canadian company, Magil, will now complete work began by Piccini whose deal to construct Paul Biya stadium was terminated.

On account that the aforesaid venue is one of the key stadiums to be featured in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations of which Cameroon are to host, work has begun at a quick pace in a bid to meet the deadline.

Cameroon’s government through its sports ministry opted to cancel Piccini’s deal accusing the company of delaying the work and failing to pay workers of their allowance.

This move followed Confederation of African Football’s inquiry to Biya’s leadership over their state of readiness for the events.

The Central African nation had been tipped to stage this year’s continental showpiece prior to being stripped of the rights owing to poor preparations.

Egypt were consequently picked as replacement hosts.
