Kenyan Premier League outfit Bandari hope to finalize their move for Andre Casa Mbungo on Saturday morning, Ducor Sports can reveal.

The Dockers have been locked in talks with the 53-year-old throughout the week and now they are on verge of naming the former Rwanda international as a replacement of Ken Odhiambo, who resigned in December last year.

Mbungo is expected to sign a contract taking him through to 2023 following detailed discussions with the Bandari hierarchy, including Chief Executive Director Edward Oduor.

Talks accelerated this week after the management refuted claims that they had already settled on Gor Mahia FC assistant coach Patrick Odhiambo who had confirmed interest from the coastal side.

Sources privy to the deal then confirmed on Friday they were unsure if assistant coach Nasoro Mwakobo and team manager Wilson Obungu will continue to be on the technical bench.

“Casa Mbungo is on his way to Mombasa to sign the deal as we speak,” a source close to the club told Ducor Sports.

“He is expected to become the new coach of Bandari.”

Mbungo is not new to Kenyan Premier League as he was in-charge of AFC Leopards before quitting the club n December 2019 after going for months without pay.

He went on to work briefly for Rwanda Premier League giants Rayon Sports before joining Gasogi United on a six-month contract which was halted by the coronavirus pandemic.

Bandari has only won one game, lost two and drew an equal number in their first five fixtures.
