CHAN 2020: Mckinstry Names Provisional Cranes Squad

URA’s forward Cromwell Rwothomio and Mbarara City’s Brian Aheebwa were the surprise inclusions in the squad.

Musitafa Mujjuzi, who turns for Proline FC has also been included in the group, which also has injured KCCA custodian Charles Lukwago.

The experienced goal minder suffered a broken arm in the 1-1 draw against Express FC last weekend at StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo and is expected to recover weeks before the tournament.

Uganda are scheduled to face Mali and Zambia in a three-nation tournament that will take place 17th -21st March 2020 in Kampala.

Vipers youngster Abdul Karim Watambala was named among ten midfielders expected to help Uganda make their mark their fifth successive appearance in the finals.

KCCA defender John Revita and Vipers’ Geoffrey Waswa were also recalled to join the national team once more.

Uganda have been drawn in Group C alongside Morocco, Togo and East African neighbours Rwanda.

Their first match will be against Rwanda on April 6 before playing the Hawks four days later, and the final match against Morocco on April 14.
