CHAN 2020: Mckinstry To Name Cranes Squad On Thursday

Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) have confirmed Uganda Cranes preliminary squad for the Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) will be named on Thursday.

Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has confirmed Uganda Cranes preliminary squad for the Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) will be named on Thursday.

Head coach Johnathan McKinstry will name the squad that will start preparations for the final tournament that will be held in Cameroon from 4th – 25th April 2020.

FUFA confirmed in a statement that on the same day it will release further details of the entire preparation for the Cranes in a presser to be held at FUFA House in Mengo, Kampala.

It read;“ On Thursday 27th February Uganda Cranes head coach Johnathan McKinstry will announce his provisional squad for the final tournament of CHAN. FUFA will give details for the whole Cranes preparations.”

Uganda are set to play two friendlies matches next month against Zambia and Mali in dates that are expected to be announced on Thursday.

Uganda have been drawn in Group C alongside Morocco, Togo and East African neighbours Rwanda.

Their first match will be against Rwanda on April 6 before playing the Hawks four days later, and the final match against Morocco on April 14.

Uganda will be participating in CHAN for the fifth time since 2011, but they have never gone past the group stages.
