Chisamba Lungu Leaves Nkana Through Mutual Agreement

Nkana FC has parted ways with midfielder Chisamba Lungu after the two parties reached a mutual agreement.

Nkana FC has parted ways with midfielder Chisamba Lungu after the two parties reached a mutual agreement.

Lungu met Kitwe-based giants’ administration yesterday after expressing his unhappiness about a lack of game-time which led to him not attending club activities.

Nkana Chief Executive Officer Charles Chakatazya confirmed to Times of Zambia that Lungu was no longer their player after the meeting.

“Chisamba requested to be released and as a club, we could not stand in his way. So we have separated mutually as we have given him our blessings to leave the club,” Chakatazaya said.

Lungu, a 2012 Africa Cup winner joined Nkana in November 2018 on a two-year contract after spending one season with another Zambia Super League outfit, Buildcon.

This was after ditching Turkish side Alanyaspor in a move to Ndola that linked him up with 2009 CHAN golden boot winner Given Singuluma and Brian Mwila.

The 29-year-old only made 26 appearances mostly as a substitute for Nkana and never found the back of the net for Aba Red.

The midfielder had not featured much this season after sustaining a knee injury in the Confederation Cup match against Zesco United at Nkana Stadium in March 2019.
