A confident coach Aliou Cisse says Senegal is not wary of Japan ahead of their meeting today.
The Teranga Lions square Japan in what will be the two sides second fixture after winning their opening schedules.
Japan sashayed over a shocked Colombia 2-1, the same score that Senegal managed to wriggled out in their clash with Poland, making it an all scintillating duel.
But Cisse isn’t bothered by his opponents capabilities saying his charges have studied them and are ready.
“Nothing worries me in the Japanese team. It’s a very good team. We have studied them and are ready to face them,” Aliou Cisse told a pre-match press conference on Saturday.
The Lions go into the duel in perfect shape without injury worries.
Meanwhile, Demba Ba, overlooked for the final selection process, has extolled Senegal’s impressive showing against Poland and hopes their high-tempo game will do the trick against the Samurai Blue.
“I was very proud and happy with the players because they honored the Senegalese flag in front of Poland,” said the striker.
“I think that willpower and intensity can make the difference against Japan. In this competition, we see that the teams that win the matches are those who play with a high tempo,” the 30-year-old explains.
