Comoros Coach Amir Abdou Gets Contract Extension

Amir Abdou has signed a renewed six-month deal as Comoros national team coach.

Amir Abdou has signed a renewed six-month deal as Comoros national team coach keeping him in the job until June this year.
According to Cœlacanthes team manager Ben Amir Saadi, the decision to extend the deal was reached by the federation’s executive committee, giving Abdou the legitimate mandate to lead the Islander in their last game of 2019 Africa Cup of Nations against Cameroon in March.
“The contract has been renewed for 6 months with the same conditions as before,” Saadi tweeted, as translated from French.

“The contract will be automatically extended by 24 months under conditions set out in the contract.”
The 46-year-old has been in charge of the Comoros senior national team since 2014 with his contract elapsing since 30th November 2018.
Abdou guided the Les Coalacanthes to a famous 2-2 draw against Morocco in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Group B qualifier in October.
Comoros currently occupy third in 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying Group B with one round of fixtures remaining. Victory would see the Indian Ocean Island nation debut in the African finals.
