Comoros coach Amir Abdou has named 21 players for next month’s friendly matches against Tunisia and Libya.
The Les Coelacantes are scheduled to meet the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia on October 9 before facing the Desert Foxes of Libya three days later in Tunis.
The two fixtures are billed to take place at Stade Olympique de Rades during the next international break.
Coach Abdou kept faith with most of the squad that played in their last outing last November when they held Egypt to a goalless draw in their second match of 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The long-standing coach welcomes back Younn Zahary of Pau FC, Salim Ben Boina of Martigues and Rafidine Abdullah of Stade-Laussane Ouchy in the squad that is likely to be maintained for the Kenya African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying double-header.
Guingamp’s Youssouf Mchangama has been included, while there are first call-ups for two youngsters Yacine Bourhane and Faïz Mattoir.
There is no place for experienced national team captain Nadjim Abdou and Fouad Bachirou, who recently joined English Championship side, Nottingham Forest.
For the third time, veteran striker Salim Mozini has also been omitted in a clear signal his international career looks at an end.
There is only one locally-based player in the squad – midfielder Ibroihim Youssouf from Volcan Club, who had been in some good form before coronavirus led to the stoppage of football in the Island.
