Congo’s Striker Sue Algerian Champions Who “Owe” Him Money Over Transfer Certificate

Congo Brazzaville striker Prince Ibara has taken the decision to battle his former club for failing to send in his transfer certificate, Ducor Sports understands.

Ibara’s relationship with Algerian Premier League champions USM Alger has turned tempestuous after the forward accused the North African outfit of attempting to delay or block his transfer.

The 23-year-old notched up nine goals in a season as USM ended up winning the Algerian domestic title by a slim margin. But matters went downhill following the attacker’s decision to seal a move to Belgium.

Prince sought the move to the second tier Belgian side over USM’s failure to pay him three months’ salary.

Joining USM in the summer of last year from Qatari outfit Al-Wakrah, Ibara felt he’d had enough, opting to pursue his career in Belgium having grown disillusioned over Alger’s nonpayment of his salary – a thing the Algerian outfit surprisingly denies, claiming the Congo Brazzaville goal-getter has exceeded his rights in the saga.

Prince requires a transfer certificate to complete his four-year deal with Beerschot V.A whom he has already agreed to terms with.

“I have to wait for the verdict of FIFA to know what will be my future. I have seen people talking about a payment that was made to me and that I would have refused to take the money. I want to say that it is completely false. In any case, I have proof that I will show at the right moment.”

“It’s a shame to get there and block a player when they could have made the start easier. In any case, for my part, I remain convinced that I will succeed,” he said.

World football governing body FIFA is expected to make a verdict which is expected in the coming weeks, upon completion of their investigations.

Beerschot missed out on promotion last season in the play-offs but hopes the addition of Prince could beef up their ranks up in the attack.
