Uganda national team head coach Jonathan McKinstry said he was somehow happy with the goalless draw game they had at Stade de La Reunification on Monday against Rwanda.
The East African football powerhouse went into the match with a game plan though they failed to execute that to perfection and could only manage a draw against their neighbours.
McKinstry faced criticism by a section of fans for the quality of the players he selected for the squad.
The Cranes coach though failed to hit out at the critics as he believes his young charges played some good football against a tough opponent.
“I congratulate the Rwanda team, they were tough opponents,” said McKinstry.

Uganda went into the match with many expectations but they suffered a major blow in the opening 15 minutes of the match when their main player in the attack Milton Karisa was stretched off with a knee injury.
The Vipers talisman’s place was taken by Brian Aheebwa but the youngster failed to impress despite having several open chances in the match.
Tuyisenge Jacques and Hakizimana Muhadjiri caused Uganda Cranes problems as they both grazed crossbar at different occasion.
Uganda face an arduous task in their next game as they face Togo on Friday while Rwanda will be up against title holders Morocco in the group’s other game of the day.
