Zambia’s forward Patson Daka scored four goals as Leicester City defeated Spartak Moscow 4-3 to revive Europa League hopes with first win in Group C.
Daka struck once in first half and then thrice again late in the game to take his tally to six goals for the season in all competitions.
Leicester were two goals down when Daka struck at the stroke of halftime when he beat the offside trap and steered the ball past Spartak goalkeeper Aleksandr Maksimenko.
The Chiopolopolo marksman doubled his tally three minutes after into the second half with a composed finish from Kelechi Icheanacho’s pass.
Daka added his third when Tielemans threaded a ball through to the Zambia who cooly dispatched past Maksimenko to become the first man to net three goals in a single game for the Club on the European stage.
The goals kept coming as the 23-year-old bagged his fourth goal of the match in the 74th minute to claim a big European win in Russia.
Daka, who scored his first goal for Leicester in Saturday’s 4-2 Premier League win over Manchester United, was a happy bunny following the victory against Spartak.
“It’s been an amazing few days for me and the team. It was a very good effort from the team. I’m just happy I was able to help the team,” he said.
The win places Leicester to second on the standings on four points from three games, one ahead of third-placed Spartak and two behind Legia Warsaw, who visit bottom team Napoli on Thursday.
