Oman Professional League outfit, Dhofar, are reportedly interested in making a move for Al-Hilal midfielder Nizar Hamad who is a transfer target for Jordan’s Al Jazeera Club.
Ducor Sports has been informed that Dhofar coach Mohamed Abdel Azim has made enquiries about the former Almalal AC Atbara star.
Hamad has been linked with Al Jazeera club with reports claiming Nizar Hamed Mahrous is keen on reuniting with his former player.
Mahrous worked with the Sudanese international during his spell at Al-Hadaf SC where he brought him in on loan before signing him on a permanent deal.
Hamad is still contracted to the Sudan Premier League giants and was heavily linked with a move to the Oman top-flight club before the start of the season.
The midfielder was instrumental in guiding Al Hilal to the 2019/2020 Africa Champions League quarterfinals where they narrowly lost to Egyptian giants champions Al Ahly.
“Al Dhofar and Al Jazeera Club have shown interest in the player but the challenge, for now, is with Al-Hilal,” the source reveals.
It is understood that Al-Hilal could be pricing him out of a move by slapping too big a transfer fee on the player’s head.
“Al-Hilal will want too much money and it’s a matter of teams agreeing on figures because those two clubs have expressed their desire to bring him on board,” concludes the source.
Al Hilal President Ashraf Seed Ahmed could not be reached for comment.
