D’Tigress of Nigeria Presents AfroBasket Trophy to President Buhari

After winning its third AfroBasket championship title, the D’Tigress of Nigeria presented the trophy to the country’s president Muhammadu Buhari after a marvelous repeat of the 2005 finals-win, following a defeat of record title holders Senegal, 65-48 in Bamako, Mali.

The team has so far appeared in three finals which ended in victory.

After receiving the trophy at the State House in Nigeria, President Buhari on his official Twitter page thanked the team for making the country proud in the bi-annual continental competition.

“I was pleased to receive our female National Basketball Team, D’Tigress, at the State House today. They have done so much to make us proud,” President wrote.
