Egypt and Guinea-Bissau will meet in a crunch 2021 Africa Cup of Nations Group D clash at the Roumdé Adjia Stadium on Saturday 15 January, kick-off at 19h00 GMT.
The Pharaohs opened their campaign with a 1-0 loss to Nigeria on Tuesday night, a match in which they struggled to deal with more technically and tactically astute Super Eagles.
Guinea-Bissau could over almost a similar threat and Egypt coach Carlos Queiroz believes that this is a great opportunity for the team to show their personality and bounce back.
“We feel hurt and sad, no doubt about that because we always want to perform well and deliver happiness to our Fans, Friends, and Families. We are proud of our commitment and we want to make people proud of us,” Queiroz posted on his Twitter account.
“Tough moments show the really tough guys standing up together, more united and stronger. Tough moments show one team united and ready to fight harder, perform better and succeed always.
“Lads, lets move forward to our responsibility and major goals!”
Guinea-Bissau, meanwhile, had a disappointing start to their campaign after they were held to a goalless draw by Sudan in the late game on Tuesday.
The Djurtus had an opportunity to carry three points as they s hit the woodwork twice and missed a penalty in a match that either side needed to win with Nigeria and Egypt to come for them.
Reshuffling the attack will be something of a headache for coach Baciro Cande as his charges have failed to score their last 437 minutes of play at the Africa Cup of Nations, the longest current drought in the tournament among this year’s participants.
