A political turmoil in Sudan has forced Confederation of African Football to postpone the African Confederation Cup quarter-final return leg tie between Sudan’s El Hilal and Tunisia’s Etoile du Sahel.
The match, slated for this weekend, will now be played at a date to be determined later by the continental governing football body.
The Sudan Football Federation has also canceled all football activities in the country.
“Due to the current security situation in Sudan, the Total CAF Confederation Cup second leg between El Hilal (Sudan) and Etoile du Sahel (Tunisia) has been postponed indefinitely,” read a statement on the CAF official website.

Etoile won the first leg 3-1 in Sousse. Coach Nabil Kouki is however optimistic his boys will give a good account of themselves in the return leg.
“We lost 3-1, which was an unwelcome result but we hope we will play better and make it to semi-finals It is possible,” he said.
The first legs of the semi-finals of the Confederation Cup are due to be played on the final weekend in April, so a rescheduled match has to be before then.
