Esperance Sack Coach Jaidi

Esperance of Tunisia have sacked their coach Raidhi Jaidi following their exit from 2021/2022 Tunisia Cup.

The Blood and Gold lost 6-5 on penalties to CS Msaken in a Round of 16 encounter played on Wednesday night.

Esperance’s medical staff  have also been sacked as the side has been beset with injury problems.

Five first-team players are currently sidelined, a factor that may have contributed to the sides’ recent poor run of form.

Jaidi was appointed as Esperance coach in August 2021 replacing  Mouine Chaabani who was fired after the side crumbled 4-0 on aggregate to Al Ahly in the semi-final of the 2020/2021 CAF Champions League.

The former Esperance player had signed a two-year deal with the four-time CAF Champions League winners that was set to run until 2023.

Jaidi won over 280 appearances for Esperance and over 100 apps as well for the Carthage Eagles between 1996 and 2009.

He was previously head coach of the under-23 team at Southampton, head coach of USL Championship team Hartford Athletic and assistant coach at Belgian side Cercle Brugge.
