Uganda and Kenya played out to a 1-1 draw against in a 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier played at St Mary’s Stadium in Kampala.
Uganda were on a five-match unbeaten run going into the game and seemed to lose the important game before Fahad Bayo scored an equalizer at full-time.
Both sides struggled to keep hold of the ball early on as they squandered possession with some poor passing, especially in the final third.
Consequently, the first decent effort on goal only came in the 17th minute courtesy of a well-taken free-kick from Bevis Mugabi, but the Harambee Stars goalkeeper made a good save to deny him.
A minute later Uganda had another shot on goal when Fahad Bayo unleashed a thunderbolt from distance, but Brian Bwire made a good save to keep the scores level.
On the half hour mark Amos Nondi tried his luck from long range once more, but he saw his effort sail narrowly wide of the target.
A minute before the break Antony Wambani should have given Kenya the lead when he met a corner-kick from Aboud Omar, but he headed inches over the crossbar.
The half ended 0-0.
The second half started slowly with the first real attempt on goal coming in the 53rd minute when Samuel Onyango met a cross from Abdallah Hassan, but he headed over the Cranes goal.
Kenya broke the deadlock on the 61st minute as captain Michael Olunga popped up a header in the 61st minute to give his side the lead.
Just when it looked as if Kenya were going to walk away with all three points, Bayo managed to kick the ball out of Kenya custodian hands for the equalizer Uganda.
