FC Arouca Defender Leaves Club By Mutual Consent

Portuguese Premiera Liga side FC Arouca has parted ways with Ugandan international  Mustapha Kiiiza on mutual consent.

The 23-year-old joined the club in July this year on a three-year deal following a successful spell at Canadian side CF Montreal.

Kiiza, who has won 24 caps for Uganda Cranes, requested the termination of his contract in order to find more regular football elsewhere.

“Futebol Clube de Arouca and the player Kizza reached an agreement for the friendly termination of the contract,” reads the club’s post on social media.

“We wish him future sporting and personal successes.”

Prior to joining Arouca, the left-back had been linked with a host of clubs in Africa including Tanzanian Premier League giants Young Africans.

Before moving abroad, Kiiza was playing for Uganda Premier League side KCCA FC where he helped the former side lift the 2019 domestic title.

He left CF Montreal in December  2021 with a month left to expiry of his contract and went on to stay un-attached before FC Arouca landed his signature.
