FIBA 3X3 Africa Cup 2017: Nigeria (Men) and Mali (Women) are the Africa Champions

Nigerian men and Mali’s women won the first ever edition of the FIBA 3×3 Africa Cup held in Lomé, Togo.

Mali walked away champions after a clean sweep of 6-0 after battling Nigerian women in the finals. It was no surprise that the women’s MVP of the tournament – Nassira Traore came from Mali. She said, “It is good to be a winner. Nigeria was a good side but a winner must emerge and it came Mali’s way. We are happy to be Africa champions.”

In the men’s category, Nigeria also had a perfect record of 5-0 with them winning all their games before the 10-minute mark.

Azouma Dike was named tournament MVP after leading Nigeria to glory.

3. Elly Randriamampionona (top scorer and won the shoot-out contest) – Madagascar
