Samuel Eto’o’s son Etienne Eto’o Pineda has linked up with his Cameroon U-17 teammates in Younde after being released by his Spanish club Mallorca.

The 17-year-old forward arrived at Junior Indomitable Lions camp in Yaounde for his first training session on Wednesday ahead of the Under-17 World Cup that begins on 26 October in Brazil.

Apart from Pineda, there was the presence of Italy based midfielder Dani Barel Fosto who will also hope to earn his debut in the competition.

The initial squad of 30 players is set to be trimmed down to 23 players at the end of the week before leaving for Istanbul, Turkey where they will pitch camp for one week before heading to Brasilia for their last training camp.

Cameroon are making a welcome return to the FIFA U-17 World Cup, 16 years after their last appearance at this level.

In their maiden appearance at the 2013 World Cup, Cameroon failed to make past group stages though they never lost any of their three matches.

The Junior Indomitable Lions, who are the reigning African champions, have been zoned in Group E alongside Spain Argentina Tajikistan.

They begin their campaign on October 28 against Tajikistan at Estadio Kleber Andrade, Cariacica.
