Former Africa Club Champions Set up Dispute Resolution Account

Tunisia’s premier league side Club Africain have set up a separate bank account for dispute resolution.

Tunisia’s premier league side Club Africain have set up a separate bank account for dispute resolution.

The former Africa club champions have come under intense scrutiny and pressure after FIFA deducted them points for failing to pay wages of former players.

Africain have been faced with financial woes since the time of former club president Slim Riahi who is being investigated for corruption and recently faced graft and money laundering charges.

The People’s Team have been unable to recover since even after the ushering of an interim body to steer its affairs.

In the interim, former players who are owed salaries have been busy filing complaints to the football governing body demanding they be paid in full including Zimbabwe’s Matthew Rusike who now plies his trade with Norwegian Premier League outfit Stabaek BK.

The Tunisian giants were initially given an ultimatum by FIFA to pay up within thirty days, a deadline they couldn’t meet before its extension recently.

However, amid growing tension over the club’s fate, which has gone on to hinder performance in the new season, the steering board has set up a separate bank account seeking help from donors to pay debts and other fines.
