Former Esperance De Tunis President Arrested For Sexual Harassment

Former Esperance de Tunis president Slim Chiboub was on Wednesday arrested after he allegedly sexually harassed a female journalist.

According to Al-Arabiya, Chiboub is accused of sending sexual messages to the journalist who can’t be named for legal reasons.

It is reported that Chiboub called the journalist to offer her a job at a TV channel before making several more attempts to contact the journalist through explicit WhatsApp messages.

The journalist, who was taken by her husband to a police station to file the complain, confirmed the arrest on her Facebook page, though she didn’t name the former football administrator by his name.

Latest reports indicated that Chiboub has fallen ill while in the police cell and has been transported to Charles Nicolle hospital.

In the past, the 61-year-old Chiboub has been involved in a string of corruption cases and at one time arrested and detained before being released in 2017.

Chiboub quit Esperance in 2004 after more than a decade in charge. This was after the club lost to their rivals Club Sportif Sfaxien in that year’s Tunisian Cup final.
