Former Raja Casablanca Striker Mohammad Shaban Joins Vipers

Uganda Premier League side Vipers SC have announced the much-anticipated signing of Cranes striker, Mohammad Shaban.

Uganda Premier League side Vipers SC have announced the much-anticipated signing of Cranes striker, Mohammad Shaban.

The 21-year-old joins the Venoms on a free transfer after parting ways with Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca at the end of last month.

Shaban told the club website; “I am thrilled to be joining Vipers SC. I’m looking forward to playing in the Uganda Premier League again. I’m keen to get started and make my contribution to the team’s efforts to win more trophies.”

On his part, Vipers coach Edward Golola said he is happy the player has decided to join the club and it is great to have him on board.

“Shaban is a very talented and good player. Our season last year showed us that we need options and quality to add depth to the squad upfront and Shaban is a proven marksman. I’m delighted that he accepted to join us,” Golola said.

Shaban previously played KCCA in the Uganda Premier League where he rose to become the Kasasiro Boys top scorer of 2017/2018 season with 18 goals.

At Raja, Shaban failed to impress as he made only seven appearances and scored one goal forcing the Moroccan side to drop him.

Before joining Raja, Shaban was linked with a switch to Absa Premier Soccer League side, Orlando Pirates, but, unfortunately, the move did not take place.
