Frustrated Tunisian National Team Goalkeeper Rami Jeridi Not Happy with Ranking

Tunisian national team goalkeeper, Rami Jeridi is reconsidering his future with domestic side Club Sportif Sfaxien. The 32-year-old is yet to taste any minute of football since the start of the new Tunisian league with Mohamed Hedi Gaaloul now preferred between the posts at both club and national team level.

Rami has been the first-choice net-minder these past seasons until his recent spectacular fall from grace which coincided with 28-year-old Gaaloul’s brilliant performance in goal the last five games of the new campaign.

The erstwhile Stade Tunisien’s keeper had a straight twenty-four (24) starts the previous term and given the big personality he is, Jeridi’s ego is said to have taken a toll on his career owing to the current uncertainty hovering around his future.

There’s no noticeable tinge of animosity between Gaaloul and Jeridi but those close to the latter’s circle claim that the veteran Cartage Eagles’ star is exasperated over his treatment and wants out of the club as he targets being included in the 2018 World Cup squad.

Division heavyweights Club Africain and title holders Esperance Sportif du Tunis are one of a legion of sides reportedly keeping tabs on the player. There has been no official offer yet Jeridi confirms but remains open to the prospect of leaving despite having a two-year contract left on current deal.

CS Sfaxien faces Etoile Du Sahel this Sunday in a would-be thrilling game and Rami isn’t expected to get started.
