Genk Slap €16 Million on Tanzania Star to Scare off Top European Clubs

Belgian top tier outfit Genk have slapped a hefty €16m price tag on prized possession Mbwana Ally Samatta aimed at scaring suitors of the Tanzanian skipper.

Samatta is courting overtures from a plethora of European clubs which include of recent English Premier League newcomers Sheffield United.

Aston Villa, Leicester City as well as Burnley have all trailed the goal-getter but their attempts have been met with stiff resistance from parent club Genk, who, in the last hours, have upped their valuation of the striker to an astronomical fee of €16m.

The trajectory comes into play with days left for the European market to draw shut.

Ally, a proven consistent goal-scorer, has found back of the net four times in four straight outings and has a deal to honour until June 2021.

Genk have firm conviction of keeping the Taifa Stars’ playmaker at least till conclusion of the ongoing season and so have moved to soar their price in the hope to fend off interest from desperate striker-searching suitors.

Meaning, in the event a club wishes to prise away the Tanzanian, they would have to meet his release clause – a thing most clubs have baulked at doing.

So far, only outfits in Russia have shown interest to cough up the aforesaid fee but of a setback is Samatta’s refusal to head there.
