Gor Mahia FC’s and Ghana attacker Francis Afriyie could be soon leaving Kenyan Premier League, where he plies his trade, for greener pastures in Europe.
The pacy Afriyie, a crowd favourite with Bechem in 2016, joined the Kenyan club in July and has bagged five goals this season.
According to a Kenyan newspaper, The Star, former La Liga side Real Zaragoza, Albania’s FK Partizani and Atletico Saltillo are among the clubs interested in landing his signature.
The 25-year-old admitted that he is spoilt of choice but he is going to let the matter be handled by his agent as still he has eight months left on his current deal.
“I have been contacted by Zaragoza who have joined the race to sign me. There are also clubs from Albania and Mexico who want my services but I am yet to make a decision,” he said.
“ In the meantime, I am committed to giving one hundred percent when in Gor shirt.”
Should the two clubs strike a deal, Afriyie is expected to be sold for around $23,000 (about Sh 2.3 million).
“I will travel to South Africa on Friday to meet Ampadu for a briefing and then come back. I haven’t shared with him on my life at Gor neither have we talked about the offers on the table. I have been training with Mt Kenya United just to keep fit,” he added.
Afriyie featured for Soy Murcielagos of Mexico from 2017 to last season, where he scored 20 times for the side.
Prior to his stint with the Mexican side, the eloquent player plied his trade with FK Vojvodina of Serbia in 2016, Berkum Chelsea and Bechem United both of Ghana in the preceding years.
